The most dangerous thing is installing the heatsink on top of the cpu. This is
specially true on Athlons, if you don't do it right you can break the CPU.
The heatsink contact surface must allways be paralell to CPU contact surface.

Here is an assembly possibility:

- Install the CPU/heatsink before you put the motherboard in the case.
(don't forget to use thermal material between the two)
- Install the RAM.
- Install the power supply into the case.
- Install the motherboard into the case.
- Connect the power supply to the motherboard.
- Install HDDs/floppy drives/CDRWs and their IDE cables/molexs
- Read the motherboard manual to connect the wires for HDD LED/BEEP/RESET/POWER,
etc
- Install any fans you might want.
- Connect keyboard/mouse/monitor.
- Connect the power cable to the mains.
Now you are ready to power on your computer
