I mean 8 CPUs with shared memory in the usual AMD NUMA configuration.  IE just
like the 4 cpu machine I used in CCT.

"cluster crafty" will probably come late this summer.  It is an official project
of mine now...

yes they are.  Check out the CCT6 log files for some amazing numbers.  IE in the
game against Junior I was seeing 16-18 ply searches most every time...

Yes.  I have inlined FirstOne()/LastOne() to use the 64 bit AMD BSF/BSR
instructions.   There were several changes dealing with updating global shared
data that were made to cut down on cache-to-cache (MOESI) transactions and
overhead.  There were changes made to make local data be allocated in a
processor's local memory to decrease access time. Etc...
