I understand your feelings about this. Dedicated computers marked our lives in some ways. I still remember the very first day when in Santiago downtown, walking along the shells of a known photographic store, I saw an announce about Chess Fidelity 7. I was poor in those days, I scarcely remember how I got the money to buy it. And I remember the day when I arrived home with the package and played the first game at, I remember, 30 seconds per move. And then many years and computers came, although not so many as you. It came Fidelity 8, Champion Challenger, Constellation 3.6, MMIV and of course lot of programs, first for Atari, then for PC. To this day I feel a thrill when ordering something new from ICD chess (the owner, steven S, is a friend of mine, a very enchanting, nice person. Me and my daughter Mariana had a meal with him, in New York, 2000), perhaps a new board and pieces, a program, sometimes a computer good enough to face my strenght (2100-2200) and pretty enough to satiate my eyes. The days of poverty are gone, I have money more than enough to do everything I want. Life is good.... Fernando
