As someone who actually reads the pgns, I prefer the old, compact style where I
can read the pgn and play the game in my head if I am not in front of a chess
set or computer. And if I want to print out a few games, the amount of paper
consumed by the new style is much greater.

Maybe Jonas works for Chessbase?
