Tried to simulate:
I used my slow second machine a PIII 650
and lowered the tc of 15" to around a half,
16MB hash for old Gromit 3,
set up a time of 8''(!) for the whole game and fed the pgn
until White 6.
Gromit took 0.05! sec to show a ply 4 PV and no sign of Ke7???
Gromit 3 moved d5 after 0.44 seconds.
