I think Chessbase is sending a command that is being converted to "new" by the adapter. I ran inbetween with Deep Sjeng and saw no "new" command. But when I run the adpater with Arena there is no command converted to "new" by the adpater. In any event, Crafty is not full strnegth using the wb2uci utility under CHessbase GUI, although for most users, Crafty will be plenty strong enough even when not full strength.
