By the way, all relevant information at
http://www.authors-only.webkikr.com/results.htm is now up to date.

I just wanted to take a minute to pontificate about how well the tournament is
going. We've had our rough spots, but thanks to everyone's patience, the
tournament is the best it's been yet. We had 16 players today (most engines ever
to participate), including 8 engines which have never participated in a
qualifier before, bringing the total number of different engines participated to
30 (!). Crafty has (to no great surprise) dominated the show thus far, but it
would still be possible for anyone to rattle off a couple first/second places
and get in the top 8. Hiarcs showed up for the first time last week, and in one
tournament, moved to ninth place. So with 3 qualifiers left, anyone can still
get in!

Speaking of the Grand Prix, we need to start thinking about the quarterly
championship. We're slated for sometime the weekend of the 25th - 27th of June.
I'd like to hear suggestions on which day(s) and what times work best,
especially from those who are likely to be there. Do you want to try to do one
round each of the three days? One round Saturday, and two rounds Sunday? Do you
want to try to make it about the same time as the qualifiers have been? Please,
let me know what you think. I need to get someone scheduled to come and provide
commentary, too.

It's been a lot of fun getting to know you all a little bit during this
tournament. Thanks for making it so much fun! I look forward to more of the same
events. Andrew
