Thanks! >Regards Jospeh Thaht is very simple. The Shredder Classic has small book and they have added a huge book (about 80MB), i extracted huge book to PF2 and it is only about 5MB in size. The samll size puzzles me but it is definitely much bigger than PF2 standard book. This download is 19.5MB and it only works if you have registered Shredder Classic from this website. http://www.shredderchess.com/buynow.html http://www.shredderchess.com/Setup/ShredderBook.exe Once you you registered Shredder Classic, download ShredderBook.exe and then double click to to install. Start Shredder Classic, go to EXTRAS>OPENING BOOK>LOAD OPENING BOOK and select the new book "Shredder8A.bkt" that you downloaded and installed. On the menu, go to EXTRAS>OPENING BOOK>EXPORT OPENING BOOK , it will respond back with a few seconds , "Pocket Fritz book exported!", Click "ok". In your Shredder Classid folder, you now see a file named "Shredder8a.bkt.pbk" about 5MB in size. This the book that will work with PF2. First , rename the current book, "book.pbk". for PF2 to something else, I used "pocketfritz2_book_original.pbk". Now rename the file "Shredder8a.bkt.pbk" to "book.pbk" and copy this file to the folder where you have PF2 installed on your PPC. Also, for those that are interested, the PF1 book will also work with PF2 and also any of the earlier Shredder books that came with Shredder 6 and 7 that end in *.bkt can also be converted to PF2 format. In addition, Shredder Classic allows you to build a book by importing PGN games so you build your own book in Shredder Classis and export to PF2 format. I know of no ther PPC program that allows you customize your own book. This is a very nice feature of PF2. But of course, you need the Shredder Classic interface. In my case, I purchased Shredder Classic without even knowing about the bigger book that would become available so this was a very nice bonus for me. My main reason for buying Shredder Classic was to show Stefan my support and to encourage him with his Shredder development. Besides, Stefan Meyer-Kahlen, I try to support most of the top professional chess authors by buying their programs - Amir Ban, Shay Bushinsky, Mathias Feist, Johan de Koning, Richard Lang, Gian-Carlo Pascutto, Christophe Théron , Ed Schröder, Mark Uniacke, and Perola Valfridsson to name a few of the programmers that I enjoy supporting by buying their products. At one point in time, Mark and I worked for the same company, Nortel Networks, but we had no business contact with each other - I knew he was fellow employee, I doubt that he know who I was. I believed he worked in the UK, while I was in the US. One feature of Shredder's GUI that is very interesting is the triple brain function. When I have a chance, I will like to take some time and explore that function using Crafty and Shedder. To my knowledge, no other GUI has that function. I have traded e-mails with Stefan and he is extremely responsive.
