We used punch cards to write the programs (I think I still have a few laying around that have "area of rect" on them, or things like that), and fed the cards in and, amazingly enough, it worked! I don't remember it taking up "an entire room", but I know that it was pretty big, probably taking up about 15-20 square feet of floor space and standing about four feet tall. Makes you wonder what happened to all of those old machines. Probably not even given the dignity of gathering dust in a back room somewhere, but most likely (very slowly) rotting in pieces at the bottom of a landfill (like my last computer, which was almost 10,000 times faster!).... jm
