Subject: On prison inmate correspondence(postal) chess..

In this months Chess Life(June 04) there continues a debate over the USCF
option of allowing a postal player to "opt out" of being matched up with  a
prison inmate by checking a box on his entry form

one view on this i found somewhat interesting...

on page 6 in the "Checking in " column a Mr. Shea opines..and i quote..

"Consequently ,i would PREFER(italics my own)to play postal chess exclusively
against inmates as i would know for a fact i am playing the player and not a
machine"

the way Mr. Shea reasons indicates to me he must be a very strong player
