It doesn't matter in what sequence or environment the change is made. The CB GUI crashes frequently when a hash size change is made with the Shredder 8 engine loaded. Sometimes it crashes immediately. Sometimes it waits, and crashes when I then click the Infinite Analysis mode icon on taskbar. It's random, and doesn't always happen, but it happens very frequently (almost half the time). The best advice I could get from CB tech support was that my Athlon XP 2400+ processor might be overheating, but that's a crock. I now monitor my processor's temperature and there's nothing unusual about it, well within reasonable & normal temperature limits. With the latest CB GUI update, the error simply says: "Shredder caused an exception". Thereafter Infinite Analysis mode refuses to work unless either: (a) I reset the GUI (close then reopen it), or (b) Load a different engine (any engine), then reload the Shredder 8 engine. This hash resizing bug does not happen with the Classic Shredder GUI, so it's not a fault of the Shredder 8 engine. It's definitely a bug in the CB GUI. However CB tech support refuses to recognize the error, and simply say that they cannot reproduce it. That's apparently the real reason - they apparently have very poor testing facilities for their software. I'm running Windows XP Home (SP1). -WP
