Take a look at Pax Chess (http://lendorfman.freeservers.com/). It is not a Winboard engine, it has its own GUI. I haven't played around with it for some time, but the last time I did, it was possible to beat it. Also, many commercial programs can be made to play at reduced strength. Genius, for example. --Jon
