Hi Chest-friends, as usual: a new month - a new ChestUCI version! ;-) 2 minor problems fixed: ----------------------- - for very large solution trees Chest doesn´t sort the output file correctly. Now ChestUCI can also handle such ´unsorted´ Chest output without problems (a very rare problem - happend only once yet for several hundred chess puzzles) - when ´playing´ through all possible defends with ´FullMovelist=off´, now Chest starts a new calculation again (as it should be!) 2 new or extended special-functions: ------------------------------------ - the option ´ChecksOnly´ now has 2 additional values (2 and 3), in which case Chest avoids moves, allowing the opponent on his part to put the attacker into a ´check´ (see the file ´English.txt´ for further details). A rather extreme example - the following mate in 56 8/1p6/4k3/8/3p1Q2/3p4/pp1p4/rrbK4 w - - bm #56; is solved by ChestUCI 3.6 (on a P4/2.66) with the previous setting C0/K7/P2/X6 in 08:37, whereas with the new ´limitation´ (C=2) C2/K7/P2/X6 it takes exactly 00:30 - that´s more than 17 times faster! :-) - the new option ´SearchMode´ replaces the former problem types ´Special-Mate´ and ´Auto-Special-Mate´, which now allows to use the new ´Special´ mode and ´Automatic´ mode also for the problem types ´Stalemate´, ´SelfMate´ and ´SelfStalemate´ (although interesting probabably only for problem ´experts´) 2 wishes from Chest users implemented: -------------------------------------- - with the new option ´TextViewer´ you now can choose your prefered program for displaying Chest´s solution file (e.g. in ´Expert´ mode) - only under Arena: ChestUCI now supports calling WinChest with ´low priority´, when this feature is enabled in the Arena-GUI (so Chest takes less CPU time in the background, when you´ve to do something else with your computer) That´s all, once again much fun with the new version, which you can download as usual under: http://www.uciengines.de/UCI-Engines/Chest/chest.html Best regards, Franz.
