It is very easy to count and generate all those positions. 1. First put one bishop on a light square (four posibilities) 2. Then the other bishop on a dark square (also four posibilities) 3. Then the queen (six posibilities) 4. Now the two knights (ten posibilities) In the three remaining squares there must be the two rooks and the king, but since the king has to be between the two rooks, there are no more choices. So 4*4*6*10=860 starting positions for FRC, and a simple way to construct them all without having to check for any conditions. José.
