The last struggle with >Fritz5? Probably a combination of several things - I quitted my long lasting membership last year (I think), due to mainly a "major" change of the editorial staff of the magazine Ply and secondarily to the fact, that it to day perhaps is more difficult to write about/review the released programs. The differences are subtle (style, "feeling", etc.), it takes strong(er) chessplayers to reveal them and then it often becomes a story about e.g. databases, interfaces or other less (in my opinion) things. Not to mention the huge numbers of new programs/updates we get, which again sets the conditions for the reviews. Years ago I proposed that "we" should aim for an international magazine/club where the natural answer from the former treasurer was, that the active members, i.e. the testers and writers, did it as a hobby. A limiting fact. regards, Kim Hvarre
