"I thought that the PIV is bad for chess so I am surprised that it is better than some athlon64 hardware." Come on, Uri, you are a clever man, "PIV is bad for chess" has no meaning if you don't look at the GHz ! A 3.7 GHz PIV is roughly equivalent to a 3.7 x 2/3 = 2.5 GHz Athlon, which is itself roughly equivalent to 2.5/1.2 = 2.1 (2.2?) GHz Athlon64 (in 32 bit mode)
