When I first wrote my program which was in Basic there was no source codes to look at. Did it all from scratch, however, a move generator is a move generator and unless they are using hash codes or mailboxes they should all look pretty much the same. One of the main things in chess programs is the evaluate function. These differ in almost every chess program written, so as long as people just examine the coding on moving, alpha-beta, etc. it should not matter. I only wish that I had had some ones elses code to look at when I first attempted to write mine. Why should someone have to re-invent the wheel every time they start a similiar project? Bill
