Well, to further confuse the issue, neither Fritz5.32, Nimzo99, nor Junior5 played music when I first installed them, but are now all working fine *with no overt intervention* on my part. The only thing I recall doing in the interim is installing Steel Panthers 3. Perhaps SP3 installed a 32-bit midi driver that I didn't have previously with Windows 95? Just a guess...
