http://www.tigerdirect.com  has nice Linspire machines for $239.00 that are
pretty good for the internet and word processing.  Stick with the Windows 2000
or XP Pro OS if you want to play chess and run Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004
at the same time or in sequence.

PS In short, just get a stripped down AMD 64 bit machine with the Windows and
Linux OS on different partitions. Later you can add fancy video cards and DVD
writers/readers. Hiarcs only works on Windows machines.
