It does not need a game plan to win.
programs did super gm performance in tournaments and an IM can even draw against
kasparov in a good day.

It is probably not so easy to draw against machines(otherwise I could expect to
see draw in almost every game between IM's or GM's and machines but there were
significant number of wins for the machines even in the Israeli league when
teams had the right to choose the player to play against the machine).
