I'm just not interested in playing lots of Crafty clones. Are you using Xboard? If so, you can use the ZIPPYNOPLAYCRAFTY option: setenv ZIPPYNOPLAYCRAFTY 1 xboard -blah -blah -blah -etc This will cause your program to abort any game where its opponent kibitzes "Hello from crafty" at the beginning. (But you must have kib set to 1 for it to work). I guess there will be a similar feature for winboard, but I don't know. In general, I've no objection to the odd game from crafty clones (and I certainly don't mind playing the original), but I've found that some clone operators on FICS repeatedly rematch my program - 62 times in one night recently! There's not a lot of point and not much I can learn from my program being tactically smashed over and over. > >Thanks for organizing this club, Will - it's a lot of fun! > I couldn't agree more :-) Andrew Williams
