I have them both. And they are fun to own. Overall F8 and S8 are equal. The good
thing about owning them along with the excellent CB8 gui they come with, is that
I can set them up for a big tournament against each other, or with competitors
like Ruffian 105, List512 and Smarthink. Here is the results of the last
tournament I ran at home, using blitz 4'+2". Fritz used its own book, Shredder
its own book, List used the Fritz book, and the other 7 engines used my own ctg
book. (Sorry, I can't check the formatting in advance)

Shredder 8	15.5/18
Ruffian 1.0.5	11.5/18
List 512	10.5/18	79.25
Smarthink	10.5/18	77.25
Fritz 8 9.5/18
El Chinito	8.0/18	71.25
Aristarch 4.50	8.0/18	61.75
Gothmog 0.4.8	7.5/18
Ktulu 4.2	5.5/18
Anaconda 1.6.2	3.5/18
