I'm using SUSE 9.0 and KDE and the steps I used to create an xboard desktop link were... 1. Right click over the desktop 2. Select "Create New" -> "Link to Application" 3. Fill in the dialog that appears (there is even an xboard icon selectable under application icons). Is this the process you followed? If you are using KDE you might try looking under the "Desktop" folder in your home directory to see if everything looks correct in the xboard file. Also I thought under Linux you needed to supply the IP address for the -icshost option (it's 204.178.125.65 for ICC). regards, --tom
