So you want to re-instal some common sense, OK. My Crafty is able to do
something no other crafty is able to do -- it can solve the Nolot position 6 in
less then a second! How was the feat accomplished you might ask.. Well it is
rather simple and anyone with crafty can make their crafty solve this position
in less then a second or any other position as well...

Simply create a text file that contains the following;

ponder off
setb rnbqk2r/1p3ppp/8/1ppPp3/QPP1P1n1/P4N2/4KbPP/R1B2B1R w - -
store -1
exit

Then run the command

crafty < textfile

Then you can start up crafty and enter in the Nolot position 6
rnbqk2r/1p3ppp/p7/1NpPp3/QPP1P1n1/P4N2/4KbPP/R1B2B1R b - -
and run analyze or go and presto -- it will return the axb5 move everytime. This
can be accomplished with any test move and if I wanted to take it a step further
I could hard code test positions into the crafty program. Common sense here
would show that test positions that are published such as your favorite WM test,
show nothing as to the strength of the engine.
