I only consider the most important hashtable - all others are directly
proportional anyway.

I don't understand what you mean here - if an entry overwrites another one
clearly the total "fullness" of the hashtable is not affected.

Of course what this really means is very dependant on the engine.

However, the main use of this is to give the user an indication
when there might be an advantage in increasing the hashtables, or when they
can be safely reduced. Whatever is reported should be in function of that
decision.
