Never heard of that project but I guess that they did not choose the right
people.
Fruit is an example of a program that is developed by a good programmer and
inspite of the fact that it still does not have king safety evaluation and
Fabian still did not work on improving the search and it is already almost at
the level of Crafty.

I believe that a good programmer with significantly better ideas than fabian can
do it.
