Hi,

with Arena 1.0 comes the opening book options. With Arena 1.09 Beta (available
this week in our ASA - Arena Secruity Area) comes the move transpositions. A
shot time after Arena 1.09 will come the official Arena 1.1 version.

Harry Schnapp created now the mainbook for Arena Chess GUI. We created a HTML
page and Christopher Conkie (Scotland) sent today the English translation.

You can find the information on Arena webpage (new selection "Mainbook").

Arena by Martin Blume:

In our forum can be found a long discuss about a free opening format, discuss is
listed in ASA. Some programmers gave his impressions to this topic. I discuss
with Martin and the idea is great but so far Martin is working on other
important things.

- new analyze line, user can set every engine output information with fonts,
colors and much more!

- Fully UCI II support, display current move, display refutations. So far five
UCI engines supported this new UCI II options: Yace 0.9987, Gothmog 1.02 Beta 2
(not available yet), Frenzee 1.59, Monarch 1.0 and Vladimir, programmer of
Patriot is working on it. Interesting is the new UCI II option "Limit playing
strength to ELO". So far Frenzee supported this option!

- Move transpositions

- Bugfixes and some new little graphic options!

Best
Frank

PS:
I have written a new file "About Arena". The file is very long and Christopher
Conkie translated the file at the moment in English. 30% are ready ... If you
have interest you can read more about Arena in English ...

And now:
Enough for today ...
Have a nice day and a good table computer chess time.
Must start now: Mephisto Milano vs. Mephisto Berlin 68000 :-)
