I actually understand the question - all thing being equal (hardware) which one is best. The counterpoint is - all things are not equal ,in fact most competions where equipment is a major instrument of battle - (car racing, yacht racing etc) it is part of the competition what you hardware you choose and in chess, how you design the software to maximize the hardware available. You suggestion is the uniform platform championships that they used to do. -- there that didn't hurt to much did it? Mike
