I think that kramnik could beat Fritz but he simply did not want to do it. He resigned in a position that he had very good practical chances for a draw by fortress and at least fritz could not beat itself in that position(I am not going to discuss the theroetic result in that position). I expect human that really wants to win not to resign in position that he is not 100% sure of losing(99% confidence is not enough). It is better to continue in a hopeless position and not to resign in a position that is practically draw when the computer plays it against itself. Uri
