you mean this: Athlon™ 64 FX-53 $799

this one is clocked at 2.4 GHz and you must compare it to the Opteron 250 which
is listed with $851.

Look at the same table one column to the right were all these 3000+ numbers are.
There you find the AMD Athlon 3400+ for 417 $.

What about this system?

Athlon 64 3000+ (FSB 1600, 1MB) Box - 3 years warranty - 3 years warranty
($277.76)

GA-K8NPRO (nForce3,AMD64,SATA SB,Raid,Lan1G,FW) ($148.20)

DDR 512MB/400 PC3200 Elixir/Digma/OEM ($92.00)

DDR 512MB/400 PC3200 Elixir/Digma/OEM ($92.00)

WD SATA160GB, 7200 rpm 8MB - 3 year warranty ($137.86)

ATI Radeon 7000 64MB,TV Out, Dual Head (of Octek) ($49.20)

Midi ATX + 2USB 400W (329-1) ($44.20)

DVD Toshiba 16x48, Bulk in stock ($35.96)

Price USD: 877.18
Price NIS: 4542.52

I configured it online on http://www.compu21.co.il/.

It has only tht AMD Athlon 3000+ which is clocked at 2.0 GHz, so it is probably
10 % slower than your Opteron 248, but it is below 900 $ and you can buy three
of them.
