I agree to some of your post. It can become difficult to police if one says, "we allow this to be bought or sold--but we dont allow this to be bought or sold". privileges are given to Blincoe to freely post at this site to buy old chess computers, he says "to add to his collection without the intent of resale for profit". maybe so, I am not sure of this because I do not know his integrity, but this is very questionable. I do know that there are people who collect rare art, rare cars, rare guns, etc. that do not intend on selling---and are only passionate about adding to their collection. maybe Blincoe is one of these. Many people here have these old antique chess computers. I have two myself with original boxes and manuals. Mine are in the closet, in storage. If I had one of the old games with special wood, and very expensive, I would probably have it on display in my house, but I would not post here 3 or 4 times a day to talk about old technology of the past. I am aware that some are into this. I like this forum because some here keep up with latest technology, beta programs are discussed, new releases are discussed, latest updates, bugs reported, etc. If some want to discuss old 8 mhz processor with 2k ram, then it seems it is ok to post here about antiques. I prefer 2xOpteron 250 with 4x512 megs ram, running on 10,000rpm sata or 15,000rpm cheetah with badass flat panel monitor. I like Robert, Aaron, Slate, posts about their strong hardware and what it is capable of doing with all the new programs. All are very aware of the authors of the old programs, how they were much needed to get to where chess programs are today. we all appreciate these people very much--huge history and good reading (if you are an antique like Robert or Ed, then you witnessed most of this history). Today is another page in this history. Todays hardware and programs become outdated as each year passes, but I prefer to discuss newest, much less buy or sell. 2004 Computer Chess is about the authors that have the energy, time, money, and brain cells to advance these chess programs. 2004 Computer Chess is about the newest fastest hardware that allows each program to see how it can play in blitz and standard games. Todays blitz game is yesterdays standard game. Todays standard game will be tomorrows blitz game. good luck to those that do business buying from this site. good luck to those that do business selling at this site. best to you, kburcham
