the 1984 championships had a tie amongst 4 programs(Fidelity,Conchess,Mephisto

this is the 1986 world champion also from Mephisto
Mephisto went on to win every championship from 1985 until the mid 90's

the Amsterdam has historical importance because it catapulted Mephisto above
Fidelty as the premiere manufacturer of dedicated chess computers
the Dallas is perhaps 70 Elo stronger

to answer your main question:

there are very few Mephisto modules that will not work with your modular board
some modules were made to work only with the Bavaria (piece recognition board)
but these are not many

virutally every module Mephisto made can work with the modular board

if you go to this site:
http://www.schachcomputer.at/mephisto.htm

and scroll thourgh all 3 pages you will see which modules are compatible with
the modular board
look for the word MODULAR in RED under each photo
that means that particular module will work in your board

you will see most are compatible

Best Steve
