From starting position, 8 ply search I get:

39,306 hash probes
9,534 table hits
4,223 had enough depth
4,001 produced a cutoff

We've talked about this before re Fine #70.  After looking at my code till I was
blue in the face I finally scrapped it and rewrote it.  Sorry I don't have a
more specific suggestion.
