Subject: My take on the palm wars + first win vs. hiarcs for palm

IMHO hiarcs is the king in features and in playing but I still like chesstigers
interface better. I enjoy the ease of browsing through games quickly w/ arrow
keys and it saves in a nice pgn format like the one below that had to be put in
ct. just to save it to a clean pgn. No it is not the strongest anymore but style
still counts for something in my book and I still think it is a class one
program all around. Hiarcs for palm has some annoying things like its pgn, its
personalities that can only be used in instant sparing (I find all of them to
easy) and the fact that it is the only program that has locked up my zire 72.
Also for training games I still like CT. it is closer to my rating and so I feel
that it forces me to really fight, because the games are longer. So far I have
play about 5 40/90 games against ct. and everyone of them has been really close.
One game it managed to draw the game two pawns down!! My only gripe is that CT.
needs to take full advantage of arm procs and it needs fisher clock. Now as far
as Chessgenius I think lang still has a good bit of work to do but it's not bad.

btw. this is my first win against hiarcs for palm, but it lacks luster because
it is only a 10min/game :(
