Tablebases in CB8 I downloaded all 5 piece tablebases from Bob Hyatt’s site, ftp://ftp.cis.uab.edu/pub/hyatt/TB/, 290 files, some 7.4 Gig, after wasting my money on CB’s DVD - Endgame Turbo 2 Nalimov Tablebases only to find out they only have 230 files for the five piece files. In an earlier post Bob said you should have all 290 files for optimal performance. They work fine in Shredder 8 with that engine and Crafty 19.13, and on CB’s Playchess site. However they do not work in CB 8 with either of those engines. In CB8 I’ve specified the location for the tablebase files, and on initializing an engine I get the message it is initializing the tablebases, but it never consults them in end games with 5 or fewer men remaining. Anyone have similar problems? Using Windows XP Home, AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512MB RAM, 192MB hash, 4MB tablebase cache in Shredder GUI. Thanks. Chris
