A big deficiency of the Fritz8 gui is the astounding large number of duplicate games in engine-engine tournaments involving 2 engines. Out of 60 games, over half were duplicates of another game (possible because of triplets, quadruplets, etc). It is hard to detect the duplicates because of the new cbh file format: Create a new database in pgn format. Copy the suspected group of games to that database. Outside of the gui, check for duplicates with pgn-extract utility. Maybe there is an easier way? I think the main cause is the book settings. I now turned off "tournament book". I now maximized variety of games. I hope that helps reduce the duplicates. Any suggestions?
