One ply deeper takes about 2-3 times more time. The amount of elo gained from an additional ply search depth is about 50 (for shallow search) to 30 (for very deep search). All these engines are allready searching deep thus 150 elo needs about 3-4 plys of search depth. Thus the hardware must be about (2,5)^3,5 = ca. 25 times faster to get these 150 elo´s by hardware. Luck is the biggest factor to win at WCCC as they do not play many games. Greetings Volker
