A lot of the time the board sensors are wrong, so you could be at only 55C when
it reports 75C. If you want an accurate reading you can get one of these:
http://www.bestbyte.net/Product.cfm?ProductID=525&CategoryID=8&Keyword=nurse

You can slide the probe between the heatsink and processor PCB up next to the
core to get an accurate reading. Usually the probe will push up into some of the
squashed out thermal compound aiding in conductivity and have a more accurate
result. Be careful not to push it in too far as this could lead the heatsink to
'cant' and not provide full contact with the core.

If these temps are accurate, I wouldn't push the CPU any further. 62C idle is
quite extreme and 75C is getting to the point to where electromigration will
occur extremely fast and inhibit your processors life quite a bit. Heat kills,
even when not overclocking.

Best thing for you would be to try a better heatsink (SLK-900a) and some of the
latest arctic silver thermal compound. The XP mobile would help a little bit but
a new heatsink would bring just as big of an improvement with less cost, and
would lead to longer chip life.

Here is the thermal compound, this stuff is *GOOD*. Expensive, but worth every
penny.

The best fan (but ridiculously loud) is this:
http://www.bestbyte.net/Product.cfm?ProductID=858&CategoryID=8&Keyword=
It does 119 cubic feet per minute in air flow and is 92mm.

Here is a much quieter solution but is only 52 CFM (cubic feet/min) and also is
92mm.

Unfortunately the SLK-900a is on backorder at bestbyte.. it can be found on
newegg however here:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-109-011&depa=0

If you can find this stuff at better prices feel free, I'm not partial to any
one company or anything like that. I've just had good dealings with these two
and they've got good reputations at www.resellerratings.com (if you go with
anyone else check that site so you don't get ripped off).
