Here is something anyone can do with a nice heavily annotated chess book.
Ok 1st play through 10-12moves from their cover the (winning sides)move
try to run through in your mind what you feel he will do and why, write this
down then look to see if you got it right and how close to analysis was correct.
now play blacks move and make sure you do not see whites move and do it through
the whole game. Ok most will know this is solitair chess but im adding what I
feel is a more correct math for a rating it is take the rating of the winning
side (it is best for a minimum 2600rated)now say the game is to make it simple
110 moves long you didnt calculate anything for the first 10moves so discount
these moves your left with you calculated 100moves and you got say 60 moves
correct this means you got 60% of the moves you calculated correctly.
then your rating for the game would be 2600x.60=1560 so your rating is 1560.
this is a tool to use while you learn.
would apreciate comments from anyone who trys this method would like to see if
it is more compairable to your actual ratings.
Thanks,
      Lanny
