I heard a rumor that next year they're going to allow people to sign up to receive postal updates which will be put in the mail immediately after each round! Of course it is only available to people on the same continent as the event, because the ponies can't travel across the ocean :) I wonder what the huge sum of money required to host the event is used for. Obviously not live updates (or daily updates). Luckily they do have internet access this year, and the participants are kind enough to keep us informed, or else we still wouldn't know anything about the first round (16 hours after people began posting results here). Omid said he would update a website at some point, but I imagine that, in addition to being less error prone, it would take about half the effort to run a chess server and automate the whole thing, and we could watch live. I'm not criticizing Omid. I'm sure he is busy, working hard to organize the event, and he will update the website when he has time. The point is, you'd think that for all of that money someone would be provided to handle that in a timely fassion. Instead it is apparently left to volunteers.
