It's really a team effort, hardware, software and operator. >It's for fun and bragging rights and maybe a few trophies. is this so Mike? i really dont know how it works there are representives of the computer companies present in the match? when one program wins, the accolades are equally shared by the programmer and the Proccesor manufactuer or the hard drive manufacturer? if not equal credit does the programmer get 75% of the credit and the hardware companies 25%? seems that the hardware a chess program runs on is a crucial determining factor in its ability to play chess..more so then which bike is used in the Tour De France for someone with as little knowledge as me in this area,it seems like just common sense to require everyone play from a level field with the same hardware but i guess i just dont get it Best Steve
