The only point of the WCCC event has been to find the best computer chess player in the world. Where computer chess player is a combination of hardware and software. SSDF is uniform platform if that is the data you are looking for... although you won't find all programs. IE Brutus/Hydra, deep thought/deep blue, Cray Blitz, Belle, HiTech, LAChex, etc... Because the SSDF doesn't have the necessary hardware.
