I believe that there was more than the usual amount of luck in this game. I tried it with Crafty, and Crafty would play the same moves for either side, in that particular part of the game. And after ripping the two pawns it doesn't see anything bad for a couple of moves at least. Luck does pop up from time to time. I've had my share both good and bad... I've seen this same kind of thing happen all the way through the ACM and older WCCC events. IE in 1978 Belle vs Chess 4.9 turned into exactly the same kind of game, both entered a deep forcing line without knowing what happened at the end, and Belle ended up winning as they both stumbled into the truth a few moves later.
