This is movei's first entrance into WCCC, and it is very much still being refined and enriched by it's author, Uri. Being a first program, and a one-person project, it isn't surprising that the more experienced programs (like Crafty), and the commercial programs (like Fritz, Junior & Shredder, etc.), which have spent thousands of hours developing and improving their program, are usually able to beat it. The real question is how has Uri managed to find the time and the programming ability, to develop movei into the program it has become, so far? Uri will have learned a lot by competing in the WCCC, had an adventure, and have lots of idea's for further improvements, for later versions. We, of course, will be the beneficiaries of all that, since movei is free to download! And while it's elo may not set your bells ringing, i think it's great than an amateur program can win even one game in a world championship match. dave
