John I think you should compare aftering pgo. Intel gains a lot, compared to gcc anyway. My Intel binaries are about three times the size of those produced by gcc. For me binaries produced by Intel 8 are 24-30% faster than those produced by gcc (2.96, 3.2 and 3.3 IIRC). Frank
