Bob Minge's predictions 1. Deep Junior 9.0/11 2. Shredder 8.5/11 3. Crafty 8.0/11 4. Diep 7.5/11 5. Fritz 7.0/11 6. Deep Sjeng 7.0/11 7. Falcon 6.5/11 8. Jonny 6.0/11 Its going to be tough for the top 5. Anything could happen For the sake of me talking and guessing, lets just say the following pairings will happen For Junior to keep the lead, it Must win against ParSOS, draw against Fritz, and win or draw against Falcon (Shredder has already played those). For Shredder to catch up it Must win against deep Sjeng, draw or win against ISIChess and draw or win against falcon (Junior has already played those). In the standings now at the end of round 7, all the top 10 have a possibility of 3 or 4 games against other programs in the top ten. If you look at the possibility of games against just the top 5, Diep has the hardest row to hoe, with possibly 3 games; ISIChess, Jonny, Falcon, Fritz, ParSOS, Deep Junior all have possibly 2 games, and Crafty, Deep Sjeng, Shredder all have possibly 1 against the top 5. So looking at it the non-mathamatical way, it looks like Shredder and Deep Sjeng have the best possibility to end up on top and Crafty could be close. And, there could be 4 in the top 8 that are "non-professional" ie. non-selling, (Crafty, Diep, Falcon, Jonny) Disclaimer: I do not program anything on a computer (mother-in-laws VCR-yes) and have the utmost respect on all 200+ (300+?)chess programers around the world. This is just rambling that I hope is close. Any flames directed at me will result in me remembering the immortal words of my Mother in my younger days when she was combing the snarls in my hair and it hurt; she would say ...."I don't feel a thing" On July 10, 2004 at 09:24:18, Jorge Pichard wrote: >I still hold that Shredder will end up in first :-) > >1st.
