No Better chess players are not necessary players with more chess knowledge. Other things like good memory to be able to remember clearly the final position when you calculate some line and fast catch of patterns to see that a piece is under attack in some line that you calculate are tested. It is also clear that Vincent even does not try to translate his chess knowledge to a computer and I know no chess player that thinks in games that white is 1.345 pawns better in some line. Uri
