Hello Jon,
Thanks for making this excellent test suite available. Running the latest
version of Djinn on the above position, (using my big iron, the FX-51) I get:
2 00:00:00 -4.83 1. cxb6 gxf2+ 2. Kxf2 cxb6 3. Qc4+H Kb8 <HT>
3 00:00:00 -4.03 1. cxb6 gxf2+ 2. Ke2 Rdf8 3. bxc7 Kxc7H 4. Qc4+ <HT>
4 00:00:00 -4.44 1. Ba6 gxf2+ 2. Kxf2 Qf7+ 3. Kg1 Nxc5 4. dxc5 <HT>
5 00:00:00 +.++ 1. fxg3!!
5 00:00:00 -1.80 1. Ba6 gxf2+ 2. Ke2 f1=Q+ 3. Nxf1 dxc5 4. Bxb7+ Kb8
5. Kd1 cxd4H 6. exd4 <HT>
6 00:00:00 -1.04 1. Ba6 gxf2+ 2. Ke2 f1=Q+ 3. Nxf1 Kb8 4. Bxb7 Rh1
7 00:00:01 -0.90 1. Ba6 gxf2+ 2. Ke2 f1=Q+ 3. Nxf1 Nxc5 4. dxc5 Kd7
5. Bxb7H bxc5H 6. Qa4+ <HT>
8 00:00:05 +.++ 1. Ba6!!
8 00:00:16 1.98 1. Rxb7 gxf2+ 2. Kd1 Nb8 3. Qa8H Kd7H 4. Rxc7+H Kxc7H
5. Qa7+H Kc8H 6. Qxe7H bxc5H 7. Qxg5 <HT>
9 00:00:26 0.75 1. Rxb7 gxf2+ 2. Kd1 Nb8 3. Qa8 Kd7H 4. Rxb8H Rxb8H
5. c6+H Ke8H 6. Qxb8+H Qd8H 7. Qxd8+H Kxd8H 8. Kc2 <HT>
10 00:00:31 +.++ 1. Rxb7!!
10 00:03:49 MAT-10 1. Rxb7
11 00:04:09 MAT-10 1. Rxb7 gxf2+ <HT>
12 00:05:13 MAT-10 1. Rxb7 gxf2+ <HT>
The engine sees that 1. Rxb7 is promising after 16 seconds and confirms
Vincent's mate-in-10 after almost 4 minutes. BTW, to head off the question,
Djinn now prints the time expended like 99.99% of the other engine's on the
planet (the peer pressure was simply unbearable ;-) The time shown is the
accumulated time and *not* the time for the separate individual plies.
I intend to run Djinn against the other positions and if I see anything
of note, I'll let you know.
regards,
