First, check in your Applications folder, there you might have an "Installers" folder with the Development tools package available for installation. At any rate you might want to remove it if you install from a CD or if you download XCode from Apple. XCode uses gcc, so it is C/C++ compliant. :-) XCode has a nice front-end for gdb. I would strongly suggest you get the latest version of the XCode environment ver. 1.2. Also make sure to get CHUD, from Apple development tools. This is a great set of tools for debugging and profiling your programs, using hardware level debugging. You can see exactly what lines of code and which instructions (!) are causing you the most amount of time. It is great when you want to rearrange a given loop or function. Regards, Hristo
