I think, n must not be even, really. For odd n, just add a virtual player (all his games mean a bye). So pairing with uneven n should be the same as even n (in this context - for real Swiss rules, it effects the color selection). BTW. I experimentally confirmed the above for n<=8, by generation all possible pairings for n-3 rounds. n=10 would be possible with my program, but would take half a day or so. Regards, Dieter
